Weddings at Hotel Las Palapas

  Las Palapas is a place where guests spend days relaxing on the white sand beaches. Such a special and pleasant atmosphere makes it a natural choice for your destination wedding. A romantic ceremony set on the beach facing the beautiful turquoise Caribbean sea, is the perfect place to say “I do”.
  • The Wedding Package
    These items are included in the basic wedding at Las Palapas.

    • Legal or Symbolic Ceremony

    There are various ways to be married here. You can opt for a legal ceremony that requires blood tests and legal paperwork to be done within Mexico. Or, you can have a symbolic ceremony on the beach and have your legal marriage performed at home – either prior or after your trip to Mexico.

    • Option A – A legal ceremony is performed by a local municipal judge in Spanish only. Blood tests are required in Mexico along with 4 witnesses with proper documentation (passport & tourist card). Both the bridal couple and witnesses must be in Mexico 6 business days prior to the ceremony.

    • Option B – A symbolic, religious ceremony is performed by a local non-denominational clergyman in either Spanish or English. The minister will supply a marriage certificate from his church. (Catholic priests will not perform marriages outside the church).

    • Option C – Your own symbolic ceremony: The bridal couple can create their own vows/ceremony to be read by any individual designated by you.

    • Ceremony Setting
    A tropical decorated ceremony is set up on the white beach for your wedding group. Tiki torches help provide romantic lightning for sunset ceremonies. White color covered chairs are available for all your guest and also microphone. Indoor ceremony is an option too if you prefer or if the weather requires it.

    • Tropical Flowers
    • 1 bridal bouquet
    • 2 smaller bouquets (bridesmaids, mothers or flower girls)
    • 1 groom’s boutonniere
    • 2 smaller boutonnieres (groomsmen, fathers, or ring bearers)
    • 1 floral centerpiece
    • Music: 60 minutes of live music is included – a choice of one of these two styles
    • Mexican Trio playing traditional Mexican music
    • Trio Veracruz playing one of the most dynamic variations of the music from Veracruz

    • Wedding Cake
    • Nicely decorated wedding cake to serve all of your guests

    • Treats for the Bride and Groom
    • Relaxing massages for the couple prior to the big event
    • 1 bottle of sparkling wine

    • On-site Wedding Coordinator
    • A personal assistant on site to handle all aspects of your wedding


    Optional Items You May Add to the Package

    • Cocktail hour
    • Cocktail hour is on the beach (drinks are not included). Your musicians will provide a nice atmosphere while your guests chat and mingle. The waiters also can serve appetizers to your guests and this are the options:

    • Mexican appetizers USD $12 p.p
    • Warm and cold appetizers USD $14 p.p

    Dinner/reception:

    A beach setting for dinner is available which makes a wonderful dinnertime experience. The dinner for this option is buffet style menu. There are various menu options available and your wedding coordinator will supply those details at your request. The cost per person is $40 USD which includes the set up service and white table cloth. In case of rain or if you prefer to have the dinner inside it will be at the Palapa.

    Drinks:
    National Open bar tab including the following Mexican drinks/alcohol:
    Tequila, rum, vodka, gin, beers, piña coladas, soft drinks and water

    • Sightseeing and Adventures
    The Mayan Riviera boasts many natural and cultural attractions. Tours and activities can be arranged for any number of your group who wish to enjoy the full experience of visiting the Yucatan Peninsula. Contact the wedding coordinator in Playa del Carmen for details about the many trips and activities that are available.

    The Fine Print

    • Wedding activities cannot continue past 10:30 p.m. on the resort grounds.

    • A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the date of your wedding
    This deposit is applied to the final balance due 30 days prior to the event

    • A 15% Mexico’s Agency Coordination Fee will be added to total cost of your wedding (not including the room reservations).
